Much research has since been done to improve consumer trust in the industry. This provided insight on the alignment of attitudes regarding variability and revealed opinions about the industry.<\/p>\n<p>Consumers are cost conscious and savvy about healthcare and feel there are substantial differences between care delivery and cost. As a result, consumers are willing to travel farther to a hospital with a better reputation. Healthcare executives are feeling pressure to reduce costs and provide consistent outcomes.
